These are truly unprecedented times.
Now more than ever, people question the need for, and value of, every expenditure.
Membership of a peak industry body is no exception. Now is the time where the value of membership and crisis leadership will prove to be vital to business survival. Everyone is busy grappling with COVID-19 restrictions and adapting and pivoting their businesses to our new reality.
With so much change happening so rapidly, it is difficult to find and keep abreast of the important information that you need to make decisions and respond. The FCA provides that platform and resource.
In my opinion, holding membership of the FCA is an essential investment. It reflects the organisation’s commitment to engagement, learning, compliance and representation that is vital and invaluable.
I have been a continuous member of the FCA and its predecessor body (in various organisations) since the late 1980’s. A commitment to membership for well over 30 years – something I value and would not consider relinquishing.
The value of membership during and post COVID-19 will prove to be critical and essential to help you respond and adapt and survive the changes to our business reality.
I am an FCA member because:
1. I choose to have the peak body engage with and represent the sector and demonstrate ‘best practice’ to Government – the ability to contribute to growth and enhancement of the sector is important to me.
2. I choose to commit to continuous learning.
3. I choose to commit to a culture of compliance and ‘best practice’ and to help lift the standards of business behaviour in our sector.
4. I choose to engage, collaborate with and support fellow members.
5. I choose to be a member of an organisation that represents my interests and those of my clients.
The FCA provides a unique platform to enable members to exchange ideas and experiences with those willing to offer positive encouragement and support to other members. Sometimes the choice is just this simple and the question should be can I afford not to be a member of the FCA.
Will you step up and be counted during these challenging times when the sector needs you the most?
