Effective Franchise Recruitment Workshop

This course attracts 200 CFE Credits

Delivery Method: Live and interactive via Zoom

Sessions: 4 x 2 Hour Sessions

Recruiting the right franchisees in the right manner is a critical factor in the successful growth and long-term sustainability of franchise brands.

Increasing regulation of the franchise sector, occasional negative media coverage and the risk of litigation require franchisors to bullet-proof their recruitment processes even before recruiting their first franchisee.

Recruiting franchisees is often quoted by franchisors as the most difficult aspect of franchising. Finding the right franchisees in the right place at the right time is hard enough for any system, without greater competition in the market, and extensive compliance requirements.

The cost of recruiting franchisees is also on the rise, putting recruitment budgets under pressure. And finally, the current economic climate brings both opportunities and adversity to franchise recruitment activities.

Against this backdrop, franchisors with efficient and effective recruitment processes that embody best practice will continue to grow. Learn how to improve your system’s recruitment processes at the forthcoming Effective Franchise Recruitment workshop.

Managing Franchisee Underperformance

This course attracts 100 CFE Credits

Delivery Method: Live and interactive via Zoom

Sessions: 2 x 2 Hour Sessions

Strategies and tactics to improve franchisee performance and profitability.

Underperforming franchisees can damage the brand, drain support resources, and erode the value of their own business.

This workshop will identify key types of underperformance, and how to overcome them. It explores:

  • The relationship between recruitment, training, support and performance;
  • Creating and monitoring compliance standards;
  • Individual franchisee and group reporting requirements;
  • The potential for conflict (and its consequences) when franchisees struggle to achieve profitability;
  • Changes to the business model that can improve franchisee performance;
  • How does franchisee performance affect network growth and development?

Improving Franchise Advisory Councils

This course attracts 100 CFE Credits

Delivery Method: Live and interactive via Zoom

Sessions: 2 x 2 Hour Sessions

Franchise Advisory Councils (FAC’s) are a representative committee of franchisees which act as an interface between franchisees and franchisors on tactical and strategic issues. They can provide significant benefits to both groups when established and run correctly, and help build competitive advantage for a brand by fostering a culture of engagement and innovation.

FAC’s that are focussed and operated correctly are an asset to a franchise network, however FAC’s that are poorly structured and managed can quickly lose their way and lose credibility with both franchisees and franchisor management.

This workshop provides a unique opportunity for mature systems to learn how to reinvigorate their Franchise Advisory Council’s, and will provide developing systems key pointers on how to establish an effective FAC that helps maintain and enhance the franchise relationship.

Organise a Franchise Conference

This course attracts 100 CFE Credits

Delivery Method: Live and interactive via Zoom

Sessions: 2 x 2 Hour Sessions

Organising a franchise conference is one of the most difficult jobs in a franchisor’s head office, and one with significant responsibilities.
When done well, a good conference can help lift network sales, franchisee satisfaction and compliance, and provide an overall positive impact on the network. When done poorly, a bad conference can have the opposite effect.

But despite their status as a flagship activity of the franchisor, many franchise conferences are organised hurriedly, without adequate planning and resources.

This workshop covers critical factors to consider when planning your next franchise conference, and will provide greatest benefit to those participants who will be holding a conference in the next 12 months.

Training and induction for franchisors and franchisees

This course attracts 75 CFE Credits

Delivery Method: Live and interactive via Zoom

Sessions: 1 x 2 Hour Session

Franchisees who are trained comprehensively from the outset are more confident in operating their businesses, demand less ad-hoc support from the franchisor, and are more compliant – and ultimately more profitable – than poorly-trained franchisees.

An induction program that gets franchisees and their staff off to a flying start ensures that highly competent operators represent the brand from the outset, while customers receive great service and a seamless brand experience. In turn, the franchisee is more satisfied with their investment and are better advocates for the brand. Providing franchisees and their staff with the business, technical and operational skills to thrive are critical, yet many franchisors fail to critically assess their training effectiveness, and may be missing important opportunities to improve network outcomes.

By the same token, induction training for a franchisor’s own team members may be cursory and overlook core elements necessary to support franchisees effectively and consistently across the brand.

This workshop helps franchisors understand how to improve the effectiveness and outcomes from its training activities at both franchisee and head office level, and create professional development pathways for franchisor personnel, franchisees, and frontline workers.

Managing Franchise Resales

This course attracts 100 CFE Credits

Delivery Method: Live and interactive via Zoom

Sessions: 2 x 2 Hour Sessions

The resale of an existing franchise creates significant demands on a franchisor’s limited organisational resources, which can often be better deployed on recruiting new franchisees, or supporting existing operators.

Managing franchise resales so that they occur as quickly and efficiently as possible is in the best interests of the franchisor, the franchise network and the franchisee whose business is for sale.

By clarifying and expediting the process, not only can the franchisor reduce the demands on their resources, but can facilitate the exit of selling franchisees (who can often be disengaged or underperforming) with more aligned and higher-performing operators.

This workshop explores how to manage franchise resales to achieve better outcomes for franchisors and franchisees alike.

It is highly recommended that participants have first completed the Effective Franchise Recruitment workshop before registering for this event.
